gnome-photos software package provides application to access, organize and share your photos with GNOME, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-photos
gnome-photos is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-photos package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-photos *
You will get with gnome-photos package name, version, architecture and description in a table
